…and we don’t just mean our co-founders’ Dave and Cliff

15 years, over 1200 customers and tens of thousands of shipped products later; we are revamping our brand and social media presence to better reflect our progressive company ethos. As a UK leader in third-party maintenance, we are proud to have helped businesses both large and small across the UK, and in a few cases around the world, extend the value and lifetime of legacy and current generation data centre networking and storage technologies. But, we have not stood still or sat on our laurels. Instead, we have expanded our list of supported vendors, invested in gaining and maintaining ISO 9001 accreditation as well as becoming a proud member of the Service Industry Association.

Continual investment

During our 15 years, the IT industry has changed, and we have moved along with it. Recently we have invested in a dedicated parts distribution centre that allowed us to fulfil orders more quickly and efficiently along with better traceability. We have also invested in on-going training and certification to ensure that our technical teams have kept pace with key vendor portfolios along with the skills needed to deliver higher value consultancy.

We have also received feedback from our customers to find out what they like about us and what we could do better. Even though we have some of the most experienced technical people in the UK and partner / client relationships that, in some instances span decades, the feedback was invaluable. A common theme was that we needed to refresh our appearance. A ‘makeover’ or ‘facelift’ to better match the professionalism and expertise that we deliver to our customers and partners daily.

Better communication

Our investment in our new website and social media presence is just the first step. We are also engaging more closely with partners and stakeholders to explore new service opportunities. As part of the rebranding, we will be communicating more useful information around the critical issue of EOSL support along with more proactive updates to help our clients better prepare for the future. That does not mean bombarding your email every day with spam. Instead we plan to offer a multi-channel approach that is completely opt-in / GDPR complaint and (hopefully) useful at a business and professional level.

Focus on service

As a business, we believe that ongoing investment is critical. At a time of political uncertainty that has resulted in tightened IT budgets, organisations are increasingly looking at ways to gain more value from their existing critical infrastructure. In our view, the fact that we can typically save our customers up to 40% on vendor support pricing means we have a compelling business proposition. But price alone is not enough. We hope the rebrand better reflects the importance we place on delivering high levels of service. Over the next few blogs, we intend to bring some of these stories to the forefront and show that Data-Shield is more than just a pretty website.
